Organizing Information/Connecting People
Organizing Information
Google Docs is a program associated with the popular search engine Google, which allows people to collaborate on papers and projects and work together at the same time or at different times on it with the document saving automatically in "the cloud" for them. Google Docs can be very useful for a school or college project or just a great means by which to send a document to someone electronically. We also did Gmail Tagging, which I didn't enjoy quite as much as some other things we did and didn't think I would use it that often. Here they are though.

Connecting People
Connecting people was a unit in which we took a look at multiple social networks or ways to "connect people" through the internet. Some were mainstream while a couple were not so much. I included some you-tube videos about each site except for Flickr, that explain their functions quite well. Finally, I included some links to these sites, some are right to my page others are to the sites homepage. Also, here are some of my social links.
Delicious & Flickr
Delicious is a site on which you can share and receive URL links from friends, co-workers, project partners/groups, or anyone with similar interests as you. Flickr, however is a website where you can share your own photos and view other people's posted photos as well.
Flickr - Share your photos and look at other peoples photos. Gives you extra photo storage.

Facebook, Meetup, Ning, Twitter
In class, we studied Meetup, Ning, Twitter, and briefly discussed Facebook because many of us already use Facebook frequently and its not very hard to use. Meetup, is a social site where you can find other people doing the same things you are interested in doing. Ning, is a site where for a small fee, you can create your own topic specific social networking site. Twitter, is a site where you can follow people, companies, and friends to view their "tweets" and compose your own. The only two of these sites we did an actual assignment on were Twitter and Meetup
Facebook - Place to share what you like or are doing/going to do. Can also socialize with friends in messages.
Ning - Create your own social network on a specific topic for a specific group of people.
Meetup - Find groups of people doing things you like to do.
